DS3 e6300 Overclock help!!1

Thread Starter
Hi this is my first overclock. after getting this thing to work, i raised the fsb to 300 and the voltage to 1.35. And I guess it stopped working. Everytime I turn it on it says there is something wrong with the power or there are hardware and software changes, and it prompts me 5 options. to boot in "safemode", "safemode with networking", "safemode with command", "turn windows normally" and one more which is something like "turn to last configuration"

I tried going to windows normally or turn to last config but after I press enter it freezes on me. I have resetted the cmos to default through bios, and I'm unsure on how to clear cmos or take out the battery. What do you guys think is the problem? Thanks.

Try this:
  1. Turn your system off.
  2. Restart whilst holding down the "Insert" key.
  3. Hold the insert key down until you see the boot start.
  4. Press your BIOS entry key and set default settings.
  5. Save the default settings.

If that does not work.
  1. Remove your power plug.
  2. Open the case and remove the CMOS battery.
  3. Set your Clear Cmos jumper to the ON position.
  4. Press the power button for ~1 minute.
  5. Remove the dram sticks.
  6. Reinstall the dram sticks.
  7. Replace the CMOS jumper.
  8. Replace the CMOS battery.
  9. Replace the Power supply cord.
  10. Restart the system. Enter BIOS.
  11. Set default settings.
  12. Save default settings.

Note the pin lock on the battery? Use a small piece of wood to push it in and the battery will pop out. Do not use anything metal in case of slippage.

Can you now enter Windows?

See the picture? See the battery? See the "tab" on the side of the battery insertion case? All you do is press it inwards and the battery will pop out.

Look on your motherboard and beside the battery, you will see a three pronged jumper that says CLR_CMOS. When you have removed the power cord and the battery you then take the jumper that is on the first two pins and place it on the second and third pins. Then you press the power button and hold it in. Then replace the jumper back to the original pins.

Keep in mind that this is not your motherboard so the placement is different but the pinouts are the same.

Thanks for the help guys. Okay so I was able to take the battery out, not able to clear cmos though. Anyways, I am able to go all the way up to the windows xp bars, but after it loads theres a flash of a blue screen and it shuts down.

Anyone know the problems? I am running at default.

There's a key combination that you have to use to unlock all the features that a GIGABYTE board posses. I have no idea what it is exactly nor when is it that the key combination has to be pressed in order to unlock all those features but maybe someone can referr to.

A fresh install of Windows XP is what I would do next in this situation.

Thanks for your help guys. Anyways, I did an xp pro repair, and everything seemed alright. I ran dual prime and was surpised to see that the temps go up to 50 C!!! isnt that too much, although it is more like 47. This is using the core 2 duo thermal analysis utility program.

Then, all of a sudden, when I left my room and came back my moniter stopped working and my other peripherals stopped as well, like the mouse. the system will turn on, but the moniter will just blink and the mouse will not light up. Does anyone have any idea what happened here? Any help is very appreciated.
