High temps in Swtor SLI

Nvidia 290.36 drivers
at 1080p

all settings maxed

My top video card continually hitting or going above 80c, this doesn't even happen in battlefield 3 on ultra..

Vsync is enabled.

What should I do..? I have a feeling sli isn't even helping and I should probably just remove the second card for better air flow.

That's nothing to worry about. You can start worrying when you continually hit >90°C.

Also, it's not an Nvidia-issue, my 6950s are hotter in SWTOR than every other game I have played extensively on them.

I shouldn't need to turn the settings down, its SWTOR! The graphics are nothing amazing, hell theres no AA right now.

This happens in Rift Planes Of Telera too, its like these mmo games are highly unoptimized.. I have a feeling my single gtx 560 Ti would max the game and could take my second out, but then when i wanna play bf3 I'm going to want to put it back in.

I could disable sli but half the problem is my cards are right on top of eachother with minimal space between, i just find it odd that bf3 my cards dont reach 75c. Swtor the cards reach 75c and dont get lower

Could just force the game to run in single gpu mode rather than disable sli entirely.

I have thought about that, but my motherboard has stupid PCI slot express layout and doesn't allow me to give space in between the video cards in my case which is big enough for triple sli.

Basically my cards are sandwiched together, but even in bf3 I have never seen temperatures rise so quickly.. I just logged on and had my fan set to 70% before even playing.

First 5 or so minutes it was around 60c, after 10minutes it was above 75c.

the cards are just so LOUD and theres no reason this game needs this much..

I guess I need a better side panel fan and new motherboard because this sucks listening to a leaf blower

Had no idea that SW TOR even supported Crossfire/SLI.

Do you have a side intake fan installed in your side panel? When I have my side panel off my top GTX 460 get to 70c. with GPU fans at 60%.
Once I put the side panel back on that side intake fan keeps the GPU temps down to 60c. max with GPU fans at 60%

That ought to help if you don't already have a fan in the side panel.

i have a side panel fan, its not a very good one thouugh just a basic cooler master 140mm case fan that i had from a previous case.

I just don't understand why playing bf3 in sli my temps don't go above 75c, but in swtor its inevitability that my temps will exceed 75c quickly and not go back down

Take fan speed off auto and increase it by hand. I do that for all my gaming. I normally pump it upto 85% for gaming, and 45% for 2d web browsing. Only thing is don't forget to increase fan speed..lol I've had a few brain farts were I played a round of BF3 on all high and suddenly went.. "Oh shtttt!" and seen my temps were at +110c....Prob took a few months of life off the card like that.
