Thread Starter
okay, so about 5 minutes ago my computer froze up. i wasnt running and major processes, nothing that would bring my processor near load anyways. yesterday after my 500 watt PSU died i switched back to my old 350 watt that came with my case. i was wondering if this could have had to do with it? thanks

Freeze or reboot?

Yes, the PSU could be the issue. However, I'd expect a PSU to cause a reboot or a shutdown and not a freeze. I hope the failed one did not cause any harm?

What brand was it?

the failed one was an Ultra, i know not the best brand, but my mom bought it for me for Christmas, i wasnt going to argue . but yes it was a freeze, not a reboot or shutdown. The failed one isn't that old and I'm not sure what the problem with it is. So if anyone has any ideas on fixing it as well, please feel free to say.

Talk about bad luck....

two scenarios:

1) the Ultra caused damage (I hope now)
2) the current PSU is not enough

I would get new PSU (a good one) and try. This FSP should hold you up just fine!
