Two recommended monitors for $550-700 and general use

So, what monitors are recommended for general usage, some TV-shows and movies, but mostly gaming and browsing?

I don't really have any requirements other than the budget of $550-700 for TWO monitors.
I've heard a lot of talk about the Dell U2412M, and everyone seem to recommend it, but then there's the issue of "ghosting" etc.

Also, what's the best choice of 16:10 vs 16:9?
Don't want to have this happening to me http://www.sc2blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/StarCraftRatios.gif

Anyway, what screens should I be looking at?

I own both 16:10 (IPS) and 16:9 (120hz).....and visually, I really prefer 16:10...yes, even for gaming, tho you technically you lose some vision from the sides. I personally don't care, I enjoy the screen/game more on a 16:10 ratio.

However, that being said...if you do a decent amount of fast pace gaming..get a good 120hz monitor (16:9)..like a Samsung S23A750D or S27A950D (as long as you have a display port on your gfx card). 120hz makes gaming a lot smoother and I enjoy it much more than the 16:10 IPS monitor. If gaming isn't that big a deal...and you rather have 16:10..get an IPS monitor....but I highly recommend the 120hz 23" Samsung monitor I mentioned above for gaming.

Based on your post, if you really want 2 gaming monitors I recommend 2x Samsung S23A750D...it will cost you $800 for both. However, I don't think you really need 2 gaming monitors...so you might want to get Samsung S23A750D ($400) + decent 16:10 IPS ($250-300)....lol...like me! thumb.gif

You should be able to get both for about...$650-700 easy. There are a few good HP and Dell 23"/24" 16:10 IPS monitors for $250-$300.

FYI - I use the 120hz for gaming and the IPS for web surfing/excel. I use both when I want to multi-task. biggrin.gif
