I found somthing WAY better then AS5 - Page 3

I ordered some of it when it first came on the market straight from germany. Cost me like $20 buck. I works great and pretty easy to use. Only thing is it made a mess and its hard to clean up cause it stains, and you CAN NOT get it anywhere on the mobo, the littliest splatter while brushing it on can fry your mobo or what ever else it comes in contact with.

I used it on my BT before I got my w/c. It worked pretty well, I noticed a nice 3C drop.

The only thing that wasn't cool was trying to explain to my mom why I had a hyperdermic needle in my room...... lol

Other then that I say it works great. But it works even better if you lap your ISH and your HSF really really well to a mirror like shine.

And to Soloz, it isn't like a glue, its actually easier to remove a hsf with the liquid pro then AS5.

I think I still might have have a thing full of it if anyone wanted to try it. Ill try looking for it a little later. But gimme a pm if your interested.

DO NOT allow the liquid metal to come into contact with ANYTHING other than the CPU CORE!!

"Conformal Coating" is a waterproofing compound that is used on electronic circuit boards to make them "weather proof." It would keep the liquid metal from eventually dripping or coming to contact with them in any way.

I repeat: DO NOT allow the liquid metal to come into contact with ANYTHING other than the CPU CORE!!

It's not glue Infact apparently its suposed to stay liquid while in use in your computer and never harden.

I think if I tried it I would like to try it on a GPU before my CPU, as most heat at this point is generated from that beast. My CPU is sitting at a cool 27C to 28C right now (its 45F outside lol).

This stuff is a pain to use. It bonded to my IHS and my Apogee. It does much better than AS5 does, but it will void your CPU warranty too (we do this daily, but you can't hide this one)

I used some yesterday for my chipforce chipset cooler heatpipe and the needle plugged on me then squirted this stuff across the room on to my infinity fins (I tried to get it off, but couldn't get it all due to how weird this stuff is.) Nothing has happened to it so far, so we'll see.

I don't like the stuff. It isn't user friendly on so many levels, but it works as they say.

The review I posted had a guy who did this with his cpu core. Snerp also said he did.
