Help: Case fan config and recommendations.

Thread Starter
What sparked me in making this thread is that the overall temps for my setup are rather high. (I'll update this post with the overall idle temps tomorrow)

Case: APEVIA X-Plorer Black
CPU HS/F: Zalman CNPS9500 LED

I currently have two Zalman ZM-F1 (80mm) for side intake and rear exhaust.
And I moved the 2 stock Aspire/Apevia 80mm's to the front for intake.
So now there's no fan at the top.

I am planning on getting a 120mm for the rear exhaust and replacing the two stock case fans in the front with these.

But since the CNPS9500 is adjacent to the side intake, would it create turbulance and in turn decrease the effectiveness?
Would it be better to place a 80mm or 120mm in the 5.25" drive bay facing the CNPS9500 and take off the side intake?

I guess I may seem a bit confused and unclear about this, so please enlighten me.

Side intake going directly to your CPU is a good thing, regardless if it "interupts" the flow in the case. Truth is it won't bother it all that much. Just make sure you have a good mount of intake...and it is better to be on the high side relative to your output as you need "extra" to allow for what your PSU will be pumping out.

Edit...A lower CFM fan for the top exhaust (so not to tax your intake as it is not that much ATM...141 CFM tops if I have it right) would be a good thing as to vent that hot air that gets trapped in there.

Edit #2...These are the little beauties I have used in my rig. It's been going for over a year 24/7 so IMO that says they hold up pretty good. The 41.7 dBa at max setting is on the louder side but certainly is not the loudest out there, plus you can manually adjust their speed. The LED's are only in the hub and thus one-sided (intake side) but for $4 I have bene plenty happy...and cool. You can see them in my gallery (click the camera on the left at the bottom)

4 up front (intake)
1 in side (intake)
2 in back (exhaust)
1 up top (exhaust)
2 on Tower112

46C at full load, not great but I am happy with it...temps don't cause me any problems.
