Minimum Transfer Rate of HDD to Properly playback Blu-Ray MKV files?

Hey Gang!

Was curious because I've recently encountered issues with a unit that is supposed to Play 1080p H.264 with DTS/DD audio and I keep getting audio cuts, continually...

Anyone know if I would get issues with a WD 2tb Green Drive with 64mb Cache instead of a 7200rpm Drive?

I'm playing these files off of my server PC on the second floor and they play pretty good through my network being decoded by my HTPC and tot he TV and SS Receiveer. but for some reason not through this other unit... It's a Sasmung "D" Series Smart TV. I shjould also add that my internet is 12meg and also that my Stardard Def MKV files with DTS/DD play perfect...

Thanks in advance.

All of my drives are "green" copy and paste a file, you will still get over 80MB/s.
Are you going wireless?

Nope, all wired!

I have two 500gb and one 2tb drive and they are all WD green drives. They all will max out just over 80mb/s but they average only around low 70's through a HDtune benchmark...

Wikipedia says Advanced L4 135 Mbit/s 1920 × 1080 / 60 (1080p)/2048 × 1536 / 24
L3 45 Mbit/s 1920 × 1080 / 24 (1080p)

I can't imagine any modern harddrive having trouble playing back "raw" bdrips @ 17MB/s, nevermind something shrunk down with h.264. if it's an 8GB file that's 1.5 hours long, that's 1.5MB/s.

Exactly!!!! but I have "Teir 2" (like that means ANYTHING) Tech support reps over at samsung telling me that it's my network or something Other than the Firmware on the TV that's causing the issues...

Should Any Blu-Ray Rip that is wihin the guildlines of the "File format" Here below have any trouble during playback with audio cutting out?
