New CPU cooler for a 805D chip - Page 2

I thought another good air cooling fan was the Zalman 9500... I've been researching coolers too, and that was in the running for me... good feedback on it.

I would not "think" you are going to Achive a ceritan OC.

You get what you get, you may get a bad chip or maybe a cherry.

I would get a AC Freezer 7/Big Typhoon/Zalaman CNPS9500-CU

those above are awsome Air-Coolers.

Thanks for all the comments, I've ordered a AC Freezer 7 pro with Artic Silver 5 paste.

My old 805D and BT did 3.6 Ghz easy while my mobo was a cheap one (P5P800SE). With your mobo, take the BT + little work on it (lap it and replace the stock fan with Silverstone FM121) you properly can go 3.8+++

Personally, with all due respect to Thumper I have no issues with the Zalman 9500 LED. I have o/c'd my 805D to 3.66 with CPU temp at 43c.

Frankly, the more I do this, the more I think "LUCKY CHIP"... since I have a friend who couldn't get to 3.4 stable with watercooling.

Case design => airflow may be just as crucial, of course..

Good luck!

That's ridiculous... can't even get to 3.4 w/ watercooling? I would've just exchange the cpu if it was mine..

Hi Guys

I got my machine up and running, I have not recieved my Freezer Air cooler yet.
I'm using a Polo 735 Full Copper Heatsink atm with AS5 Applied.
It's interesting the computer's been running for 3 hr's and temp is still 25,26C.
This is the temp it says in the bios too btw.

It's quite a fast chip at stock, with temp's like 25,26c I reackon I'd be able to get 3.6GHZ.
