Need some Advice..

Ok, im torn right now between a couple of things. I have finally OC'ed my machine by 600mhz, which I feel is a great overclock. But my GA-K8N-Pro SLI has some serious reboot issues when it attempts to post the IDE/SATA Devices. Once it gets past its occasional hissy fit it boots into windows, where I have my graphics cards overclocked as well with no issues whatsoever, everything runs perfectly, runs 3dmark, doesnt overheat, pass stressprime for 10+ hours etc. It has significantly improved my benchmarks, and I notice much smoother gameplay in BF2. But with a better board, I will most likely be able to break the 600MHZ oc, and come up on 8 or 900 as many people have. Which will further improve everything.

Now, it has been suggested that I upgrade my motherboard to something in the range of a DFI Lanparty SLI motherboard running around $150. But i dont feel justified in buying something that expensive when my machine is already rather dated, coming up on ayear old. Should I just put up with the booting crap, and the occasional speaker pop seemed to be created from the speakers? Then in a while completely rebuild?

Or

Should I take ropey's excellent advice, as he has given me MUCH help and guidance, and buy the DFI Lanparty, or after my own research, and semi tight budget; get maybe the ASUS A8N SLi Deluxe or something? I dont really want to, nor can I afford new components.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions, maybe another overclocking friendly SLI board with a slightly lower pricetag? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Well... unless you really lucked out with your CPU purchase, you're not looking at a whole lot of improvement upon your initial overclock results.

Think of it like this... Is 100Mhz worth 100 dollars to you? The odds are you won't get any higher than that, if even that high.

You need to fill out your video card information.

My Recommendations:
Single Card: Ultra-D: 118 - 10 dollar rebate with free shipping (<- You can also find a guide for modding this to an SLI-D here if you want to be semi-risky)
SLI: SLI-D: SLI-D: about 160 including shipping

In my opinion... not worth it at all.

Contentment is hard in the computer world... but sometimes it benefits you a lot more to just be happy with where you're at instead of breaking or spending $100s more just to get a few Mhz you won't even notice.
