[Build Log] Yet another watercooled X79 build log.

Thread Starter
Greetings,

I haven't built a new box from scratch since 2007 and this is my first build log too.
Kinda got sick of waiting for the next best CPU/GPU to come out. So I decided that it's time to upgrade.
My current box which is in my signature will become more like a workstation than a gaming PC, I will be reusing my current EVGA GTX 580 1.5GB SC with an EK waterblock for now.

Here's the list of parts I have for the new box:

Intel Core i7 3930k
ASUS Sabertooth X79
Mushkin Enhanced Redline 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 2133 Model 993997 (9-11-10-28)
EVGA GTX 580 1.5GB SC + EK Ni/Al waterblock
2 x EVGA 03G-P3-1593-AR GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) Classified Hydro Copper 3072MB (Returning for refund and waiting for AMD 7970 launch)
2 x Corsair Force Series GT CSSD-F120GBGT-BK 2.5" 120GB SATA III (RAID1)
2 x Samsung 2TB 5400rpm (RAID1)
SeaSonic Platinum-1000 1000W 80 PLUS PLATINUM
LIAN LI PC-A70F USB3.0 Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower (replaced the rear 120mm fans with Scythe 800rpm ones)
E-MU 1616m Sound Interface
Filco Majestouch-2, NKR (MX Brown) Keyboard (connected to PS/2 for NKR)
Logitech G400 Gaming Mouse

Will be re-using my current monitor which is HP ZR30w 30" 2560x1600.

Also will be re-using, and expanding my current water cooling setup by adding a 2nd radiator.
W/C consists of:
MCP655 (Variable speed) + EK 655 Top
EK Supreme HF Full Gold CPU Block
2 x EK-CoolStream Radiator XTC 280
4 x Yate Loon 140mm Low Speed Silent Case Fan (D14SL-12)
EK Compression fittings
Bitspower 45 Deg. Adapters
Primochill Primoflex 1/2" ID Black Tubing
Swiftech Micro res.

The radiators, pump & res. are all mounted on the rear side of my computer desk and the tubing which goes in/out of the computer has quick-disconnects by Koolance. I'm putting QDC's between the CPU block and the 580's too. The pump is powered by a dedicated regulated & protected switch-mode power supply by Meanwell. Having all those W/C parts mounted externally helps keep the heat out of the PC, also if god forbid one of them leaks.... the leak is not in the PC.
Used to have a Thermaltake flow sensor which was hooked up to a bios fan socket on the mobo, and bios was setup to beep from the pc-speaker in case the flow stops. Unfortunately the flow sensor itself failed after about a year of use so I don't wanna replace it with the same model but on the other hand I can't find a different flow sensor for 1/2" ID tubing.

Now I just have to finish putting everything together and then to test for leaks. I'll post some pics later.
