What do you advice me guys? To get one of those hd7970s or to wait for Nvidias offerings? The problem now If I buy this card the 3D vision Kit will be useless. I rarely use it. But still I don't want to lose this feature.

Also Techspot recently submitted their HD7970 review .

I highly doubt Kepler will be all that much faster then this when it comes out. No more then 20% I'd guess. At any rate as the first single GPU card faster then my 5850's I think I might buy one of these. 7950 might be the better choice as I'd be willing to bet I could squeeze 7970 performance out of it.

So where are the benchmarks with the card comparing it to a GTX 580 3gb. Or a GTX 580 3gb superclocked etc.

If I'm not mistaken, most people could overclock and get 7970 performance according to these numbers. Sure, you can overclock the 7970, but no reason to change your whole setup..

I'll be getting one once real user reviews are out and if I can sell my GPU for a decent price.

The 580 1.5GB is basically the same speed as 580 3GB. 7970 should still be faster than the 580 3GB.

The MSRP of 7970 is about $550 USD. Current 580 3GB cards are $590 to $650. If the price is consistent until when the 7970 goes on sale January 9th, the 7970 would be the better buy compared to the 580 3GB.

I just wonder if Nvidia is considering lowering the pricing of the 580 1.5GB. Those would be great cards to get if that happens (and you don't care about having the fastest card).

Did they state what CPU they used for the test?

Its NDA, but unfortunately it won't overclock as multiplier locked so its now a bad choice but as we don't have a free sample 3960X kicking about were going to stick with it, just can't mention what it is. But we believe a 3960X at 4GHz would be quicker.

it's 2011 socket though....

I can't imagine the cpu will have much of an impact.

Even so can't they use the fsb straps, and why are they even using a xeon es?

so i havea gtx 570 someone is offering me 280 or i might hook them up for 250 (and if they dont buy someone here would want it at that price or on ebay or wahtever) so since my card is slower then a 580 and the 7970 stock beats a 580 when overclocked i will be looking at 750$ worth of card power for 200$ less now the main question is will they hold resale value when keplar drops? if the ''cheaper'' version they have coming thats around 50$ less only be for the 7950s or both? qand the main damn thing SOMEONE POST A LEGIT PRE ORDER SITE SO I CAN BUY ONE!!
