I'll have to assume that with all this comparison of 7970 to 580 that the 580 after all was much better than the 6970 was or is? Because last year the argument heatful debates were the 6970 was on par with the 580, yet now the comparison is 7970 against the 580 and no mention to it's counter part.

Means you finally unknowingly conceded that the top single GPU of 2011 was in fact the 580......finally good to know all that debate last year was nothing more than rhetoric. tongue.gif

The GTX 5XX series was in general released later than the HD 6X00 series and driver maturation has benefited Nvidia more than AMD. The GTX 580 and GTX 590 have widened/closed the gap between the 6970 and 6990 respectively since release.

You are ridiculous rolleyes.gif Do we really need this nonsense in a thread about user reviews/user opinions of the 7970? There's no need to be shy, just come out and say it instead of skirting around it, you love NV. You hate AMD. I do not get and never will why someone would be a brand loyalist to an extent that they will try to derail a thread on another product. I personally buy whats best. I don't care if its AMD, NV, or heck...bitboys. If its good i'll buy it. End of. I bought 580's, I bought 7970s, and i'm sure I'll buy whatever NV cooks up next.

Stop being ridiculous and derailing the thread.

...Actually the GTX 580 released BEFORE the 6970....It's all last gen stuff, irrelevant to the topic at hand.

Really? I remember the 580 and 570 being released ahead of the 69xx series at least.
