Only noise if you can hear it, set it to 75% @70º and 70º% for 65º, that way the temps never go higher than 65-70, at least of what i test in my country that have high ambient temps.

I would honestly probably rather just save the trouble and buy either the Noctua NHD14 or some watercooling kit.. I just don't have a lot of freetime.
Even having to buy this new motherboard is going to suck, sinceI'm going to have to pull everything out and reseat the CPU etc.. etc....

Other than increased noise no, you will not wear out your cards or anything. Perhaps you should get high airflow brackets from evga http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=M020-00-000171&family=Accessories%20-%20Hardware&sw=4

Yeah. I 've been running the TOP card's fan at 75%. It gets around 80-86c.

I just leave the bottom card alone, because it gets around 60-70C no matter what, its the top card that is hot.

I think I'm am going to order a new mobo soon too. Torn between the ASus extreme 7 gen3 or EVGA FTW z68

Wow, I've never even seen those. do they work?

I'm hoping the mobo change will solve my problems by providing space between the GFX because after today and messing with the fans, I can see the top card gets so hot because it's sandwiched right on top of the second card and sucking in pure hot air. the other card is 10-15C cooler which is absurd.

I'm actually so fed up with air cooling I'm really considering selling off the H70 and going watercooling. I've just pigged out on the second gTX570 and a 120hz Acer monitor and the Raven case though, and now I have to by that mobo, so I can't be spending too much cash like I usually do.....redface.gifmad.gif

I think you ment ASrock extreme 7 gen3 in which that would get my vote over the evga.

Edit: If you want to save some money and don't mind losing some features (like x16/16 pci-e lanes) then you could also go for the extreme 4 gen 3. I current own this board and it works great. It also has plenty of space between gpus in sli/crossfire. I don't think there is a need to have x16/x16 lanes yet anyway and even if you wanted "true" gen 3 pci performance then you would need a board that can do 32x/32x and an ivy bridge cpu.

What settings are you trying to play bf3 at? If your running it with 4x AA and HBAO enabled you will have stuttering because the 1280MB of vram on the 570 isn't enough for that. 1.5GB appears to be the sweat spot for battlefield 3 with everything maxed at 1920 x 1080p. Try running 2X AA with post AA set to low and change HBAO to SSAO. That should solve most of your problem. You may have to disable AA entirely, but i think that setting above will be ok.

It allows air to travel more easily out the back of the card, making it more quiet and cooler. Are the cards literally on top of each other?

My vote is for the asrock though you can not go wrong with evga's customer support.

My other thought though is that the Raven case only has 700 rpm fans as intake. These would drastically increase your airflow in the case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835220035

You may want to attempt to place a fan directly under the cards blowing up if possible as that will help a great deal as well.

To the guy above me i run on 2x aa with only one card so there is no way he needs to completely disable it.

Yeah I said he would probably be ok, but I wasn't sure. Having two cards vs one in that situation doesn't matter though as its a vram issue.
