Thread Starter
I have a couple of questions: would getting a 6870 1GB+ a 6870 2GB be a lot better than 2 6870 1gb's
My second questions is will a 6870 water cooling block fit this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150521) and (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150561) if a reference block will not what will?

I will responded to anything tomorrow Its bed time. night OCN

When using more than one GPU, you dont add the memory together, each card uses its own mem. You also get scaling if using a 'better' card and a 'lesser' card like a 6870 and 6850. The 6870 will scale to match the 6850's specs. The only place this doesnt get botched up is on the twin GPU cards, like a 6990 and paring it with a 6870, youre basically getting three 6870's.

I cant answer your water block question, its not a reference card because it doesnt say AMD right above the PCI-E connector, which is one reason i stick with Sapphire cards as they are ATi's #1 OEM Partner.

Check out my build log Blood Dragon. I installed two Koolance 6870 waterblocks and they work beautifully. The cards max out at 52 degrees C with an ambient room temp off 30 degrees and idle at around 34-38 degrees.

Here is my build. Both cards are reference ASUS Designs

@Raging Bull Love the build man but the kinking is probably holding you back a little. You might want to get a 45 degree connector for the CPU to GPU.
