Kinda off the topic of headphones, but i bought a wireless guitar set from seenheiser and lost the antenna. i have to say, their customer service is crap! it takes almost 3 emails everytime for them to get back to you. and they still have no answer if they can replace the part... grrrr

well the last pair of headphones I bought was a pair of Denon AH-C700's. I'm set for my portable rig for now.
ultra portable rig: iPhone > Denon AH-C700

call them. but first do some reasearch and find the part number you need beforehand. I've had them quote me the price for the wrong part number before. The problem is that they don't make their people know the part numbers for everything, which I can't say I really blame them for

the two popular ones are:
AH-D5000. $700
AH-D2000. $350

I've heard some speculation that the 2000's are very similar to the 5000's in terms of drivers, and only the housings and cable is different, but I haven't heard them myself or done much research do I couldn't say one way or the other. I sure wouldn't mind a pair of D5000's though!

then they also have a line of canal phones too. Really the only one worth looking at is the AH-C700 which lists for $200, but from what people say they can compete with the top IEMs so I guess they give shure E530's a run for their money... and at less than half the price. I can't vouch for that but I can vouch that they are the best in ear phone I've heard to date. I just got a pair last week and I'm done with portable phones for now.

I don't know if there are more/better options available in Japan or not, nor what prices would be. Although if you get this going and make lots of money I think you should send me a pair of D5000's
