Ours are the real deal. As long as they're on the shelf, they can go out tomorrow. I am planning one last day of packing orders tomorrow before Christmas with sporadic activity next week before the new year.

Jab-Tech sells both lower quality YL and higher quality YL. The authentic and high quality ones say Direct From YL (e.g. this D12SL-12 is an authentic one). I have had nothing but great service from Jab-Tech over the last half year or so that I have known about them. thumb.gif

Keep in mind that we have BOTH types of yates and I will call you out on yours being "real"...
Firstly only the LOW speed cheapo yates have the small motor, the Medium and High speed have the larger motor...

The Pictures of the internals on FTW are from the CHEAPER yate loon fans.

NOTE the brown part between the bearing and the copper coil... On Direct From Yate Loon fans this is white...

I bought some high speed Yate Loons from Jab Tech D12SH-12 High Speed (along with some MX-4 and 38mm fan clips for my Mega) and got something that whines to no end when running full speed in my pc. ehume gave me a name of someone to talk to about it in the Yate Loon Club thread but I just chalked it up. Wasn't worth the bother.

Not thread crapping/flaming; just telling what happened to me.

Invoice dated Oct 10, 2011.

Did you buy the cheapo Yate or the expensive direct from YL ?
I think they were like 4 bucks a piece ... $3.85 But never knew there was a difference. I always used to buy Scythe S-Flex F's exclusively but they've been discontinued for some time now.

I don't think I saw a listing for "Direct From YL" though. Maybe I missed it.

It's cool, though. I just think for an average user (read noob) like me, fan shopping can be pretty confusing when it comes to this particular brand.

We stand behind our products. You can return them for store credit if you wish...

Picture of the internals of a cheap yate and one direct from YL.

Things to notice.

Direct Yate Loon only has sticker on one side. (no sticker on the fan blade side)
Both Fans have the same size (25mm) motor
There are serval differances between the motors, the PCB is very similar though.

If anyone is paying sub $4 for a yate loon fan, its pretty much guaranteed that they are not direct from YL... My landed cost direct from YL is WAY above $4 per fan.
