Swinging is indicative of a bad seating. Mine doesn't swing, but at loads it is consistently higher.

For example right now, they're all within 1c of each other 31 31 31 32. Nothing is jumping more than 1c of 31c.

Id definitely check your seating if your seeing crazy swings under normal circumstances.

I think it's just the chip. Mine seems to think it's a Core i7 920 temp-wise or something. I've reseated it once and then just recently again. Nothing changed.

I had a Core 2 Duo E8400 C0 that was like this. Upgrading to a Core 2 Duo E8600 E0 changed everything. I'm hoping Ivy Bridge turns out to be the same scenario because I am considering it.
