When I saw this I thought EA pushing their best developer to copy someone else's success again. This is not how creativity works.

Hmm, awesome, take two lackluster games and make one. Guess there won't be much change huh, besides making an average game and then letting the community fix it with mods.

Didn't they say the same thing about dragon age 2? They set out to improve upon DAO (which wasnt needed) and destroyed it with a dumbed down DA2. They need to scrap the idea of taking anything form DA2, DA3 needs to be a true sequel to DAO.

On October 11, 2007, however, it was announced that this new partnership (organized as VG Holding Corp) had been bought by Electronic Arts. BioWare therefore became a unit of EA, but retained its own branding.

Of course I realize that EA owns Bioware. How the hell could I not when I explicitly said that:

Seriously. That says I already know. What I am saying is EA's horrible management will simply destroy the Bioware brand. Instead, they ought to stick to publishing and marketing (which they do VERY well) and leave the entire development (the stuff they suck at) to Bioware. The obvious warnings being Activision's Guitar Hero and Call of Duty, but also EA's C&C, Red Alert, and Sim City. It sickens me to think that Bioware, my favorite developer, will soon fill that list.

I was once an adventurer just like you, but then I took an arrow to IN the knee.

Don't know why this bothers me, but the majority of people are getting this wrong. As big as it has become, you'd think people would get it right. OCD kicking in, sorry.

Thread Starter
When DA started to go wrong was with all the lackluster DLC. It is like they stopped trying to make good games but release a bunch of micro-transactions. Then the Facebook version got released. More micro-transactions. About the time DA2 got released, it was not a finished game. They released it anyway just to sell more DLC, and it backfired on them.

EA likely had a lot of influence over these decisions.
