odd laptop question

Thread Starter
I am wanting a laptop that doesn't send any interference to my usb ports while plugging in power cods, speakers or anything else to it. I'm going to be using it with a kyosho rc car lap counting system. It uses RFID tags placed in the car to record lap times. I have used it with a cheap laptop i have and it will not work wehn the laptop is plugged in or when speakers are connected because it causes to much interference with the system through the usb. IT works better with my wifes macbook, but I can't use it all the time and it's still not perfect.

Here is a link to the system I am using it with http://www.kyoshoamerica.com/KYOSHO-IC-TAG-LAP-COUNTER--_p_9793.html

I need laptop that is very well shielded from outside interference from other electronics. Any laptop that is good about not sending noise or static from other devices connected to the usb would work great.

an expresscard usb adapter w/ external power brick may work? or a usb hub w/ powered brick.

I know what you mean, I can't use my laptops VGA ports with power connected, drives me insane with interference... thank god for DVI wink.gif

Audio is normally an issue as well w/ plugged in laptop connected to stereo.... solution: optical audio wink.gif

Lol, i hate this problem. I remember trying to charge my old ipod from a truck and also play music from it on the truck's speakers. Don't know if this will help, but I have had somewhat good experience with thinkpads on this problem. not so sure about their newest line though.
