Need to replace my Razer Sphex

Had this pad for a while but it's been over a year and after a few moves and a few idiots ripping it apart I need a new one.

I'm using a Logitech G500 (Had a Deathadder but it's was a gargantuan piece of trash). I have always heard their pads were good quality and believe it because my Sphex was good to me.

I've been looking at a Goliathus but am a little slow to buy a cloth pad when I've been using this hard surface.

So my question is will I be losing mouse speed? I am liking the idea of a rubber bottom pad but apprehensive of the extra thickness as the Sphex was paper thin.

I'm worried about the change to cloth I guess. Looking for some input.

I have a Razer Destructor. It is not paper thin and has held up to some serious gaming. About 110 hours of BF3 on it and some serious time on about every other game you could think of. The thing you want to do is have a lintroller available to clear your gaming pad every month or so. They build up lint and dust particles over time even when gaming hard. This is mostly because of the materials used in their construction. For me, Destructor is the right size - a little big - but I like adjsuting my mouse settings to suite my gaming style. It is also a smooth glide.

For 30 bucks I'm just going to order a Goliathus. The biggest. If I don't like it, well it was just 30 dollars.

I picked up a fierce rude gaming one from microcenter. Its not a thin piece of paper and has an anti slip mat for underneath it and the pad is reversible it was like 15 or 20I bucks for it and seems like it will last for awhile.
