MSI is such a piece of crap!

Okay so maybe someone can assist. I just flashed my bios on my 890gxm-g65 to the latest version and now guess what? windows wont boot!! My comp just keeps resetting, it wont even load from a windows instal cd anymore! I remember I had previosly tried updating the bios from 1.6 - 1.9 and noticed that when I did I couldn't set RAM speeds above 1600 and get a boot. Same with this new version 1.C. So I advise everyone to stay away from MSI, they obviously have a sack of rocks working as there BIOS development team. For now I'm off to try to downflash to 1.6 again and see if that works...

Try resetting CMOS. Why did you flash your BIOS in the first place?

Lol try resetting CMOS? You think I don't do these things? Well I was wrong it seems anything above BIOS 1.9 is trash not 1.8, my windows is now booting again on this version. And let me ask you why you would update your BIOS? I did it mainly because I just got a vertex 3 and the write speeds were low so I wanted to check if a update would help them.

One thing that i always forget.

My HDD is set up with AHCI, but most bioses default to IDE. which will cause no boot. Maybe check that?

also your title is kinda....non-descriptive

That was the first thing I did. The problem is as simple as MSI's BIOS just being bad. I'm running the older BIOS now with no troubles.

MSI sucks mostly on the VRM front, so i really can't comment on the whole BIOS thing, did you flash the BIOS using M-Flash?

I just did a BIOS Flash by USB and hands down BIOS 1.A is the best choice because I’m again able to adjust my CPU-NB multiplier, I was fully stable at 2600GHz @ x13 and can set it to be x20 @ 4000GHz. It sucks with the new BIOS 1.B/1.C as the CPU-NB multiplier is locked at x12 2400GHz.

I almost always update the Bios to the lastest when it's a new MOBO, so if there were any problems with the board prior then they will be fixed. just bought a MSI 870S-G54 it wasn't meant for my CPU 125w so a Bios flash was needed to install chip set drivers. The mobo did die a few days later but that was just because the MOBO was a piece of crap. Anyways Rindoze you flashed your Bios and the Bios was worse then before, MSI does suck then because normaly when there is a Bios update it either improves or at least keeps things the same. And yes sir I will avoid MSI forever. Cheers
