Calling all 4850/4870 owners!

Thread Starter
I had a little bit of a mishap when handling my cards and a knocked off what I suspect to be a SOT-23 Type Transistor.

I can't find the piece that fell off and I would be grateful if someone who owns one of these cards( they all should have similar layouts ) could inspect theirs and check what part # is on the transistor that I knocked off. The part # is written very very small on top of the transistor itself and you will need a magnifying glass and light source to read it. I just used a camera lens held to my eye.

Pics here:

The card in question is a ATI single slot 4850 512MB.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible for that particular one to be on the front of the PCB? I can't find Q1231 on the back of my XFX 4870. The PCB is a lot different than your 4850. I'll keep looking.

Not sure how much it'll help, but all the other transistors like that on mine (Q1XXX), say 1AM and then what looks to be a sideways 3 after the M.

AFAIK the 4850 and 4870 cards all share a similar layout, I also have 1AM chips on the back of my card. The one that fell off is right next to the green chip that says X125f 16V, and this should be the same in other cards too.

Thanks for trying though!

Yeah, pretty much none of mine are labeled by the area like yours and the writing on those little transistors are so small I couldn't read em. They're differen't though, I think I have one of the revised versions or something probably from a few months after launch I think I bought mine, its shorter and a bit fatter perhaps with a red board

450

^not my picture but exact same card

Sorry I couldn't help ya, I tried

Btw, it's probably the same as that Q1230 on your board I see there in the pic, worth a shot thumb.gif

Is the missing one your Q1231? Mine says N51X, with an underscore under the 5 and X. I dont have that green power thing, and this is the link to my card.

Hope this helps!

This is the clocest I think;  http://www.techpowerup.com/articles//overclocking/voltmods/151/3

There's no numbering of the transistor on Q1231 but it should be of the same value Q1230

Edit: GOT IT !!!!   7AMU
