Tell me about your Eyefinity experience! - Page 2

Thoughts: I absolutely love surround gaming (I'm using Nvidia cards). I'd recommend it to anyone who seriously loves gaming and that is an enthusiast. It's great to play pretty much any game in surround, I am particularly fond of FPS, RPG, and a few racing games; all of which look spectacular. I love my set up, but moving it back and forth to college (between Christmas break for example) is a ROYAL pain. I wouldn't ever consider going back to a single monitor though, the thought of it horrifies me. Happy gaming!

Pros: Looks great, immersive experience, great for pushing a system to its limits.

Cons: Size, cost

I enjoy my Eyefinity setup quite a bit, I don't really use it that much though (usually just use one next to my bed) for a few reasons that I will list below.

Pros: Looks great, really immerses you in the game(s)
Anyone who looks at your pc will drool and you will be their bff
Can help in FPS games

Cons: More heat (monitors + PC) even while idling
More power consumption
Instead of feeling like "oh a HD5870 will let me play most games on high/ultra", it's "Oh a HD6990 should handle most games on medium/high/ultra" (Varies) which means in the long run you need to spend way more money on the computer
No chance of having a "Quiet" PC (unless watercooled)

The first two reasons made me cut a hole in the wall and the pc is in the room next to the room with my monitors in them.
If Money is growing on trees and you love to have the A/C on all the time then I would find you would have no issues with eyefinity.448

I love it.

Most AAA games will work with some tweaking. Some, like BF3, BC2, Dirt3 work out of the box. Indie games, not usually, but i just play them on one screen then.

Very immersive.

I need more GPU power ALWAYS. It greatly restricts your options. 2.5GB 570s, 3GB 580s, or Radeon 6xxx 2GB are like the only options.

I love my Eyefinity setup for all of the above reasons. There is nothing like it. Just make sure you sit close enough so you don't turn into one of those "bezel haters."

The only thing that sucks is the amount of graphics power needed and some non-blockbuster games have different fov's. I was toying with the eyedea (lol) of going with one bigger monitor for those reasons but I don't think I could do it.
