Ok, Newegg has a xfx 7600gt at 590/1600 for$ 146.99
or if thats a lil steep, they have a bfg 7600gt at 580/1450 for $113.99 after a $30 mail-in rebate

Also newegg has the xfx 7900gt at 470/1370 for $232.99 after a $30 mail-in rebate
and a MSI 7900gt at 500/1530 for $229.99 after a $40 mail-in rebate

However, I'm not sure if the first of each card above is better than the second or just pre-overclocked (ie the two could reach equal speeds at their max overclock, but the first being sold already overclocked).... could use some verification from someone else on that one... either way, newegg>tigerdirect on video cards and just computer parts in general

Just though I'd point that one out so you dont waste extra moola

Also, in terms of performance, the 2x7600gts would be margainaly better than a 7900gt and margainly worse than a 7900gtx... however, having 1 card thats basically equal in capacity to two cards is just a better way to go since it uses up less juice and takes up less space (if cooling becomes an issue)
So ya, If i had that sorta cash, I'd probably go with the 7900gt... always leaves room for 2x7900gts later on if needed

Hope that helps ^_^

I agree, if you were planning on spending $360 at tigerdirect for a 7900gt and now realize newegg has the same card for cheaper, you could sort of take that as an incentive to use the money you just saved to get a better card!

BAM!
BFG 7950GT 512MB for $299.99!... less than you would have paid for the 7900gt at tiger direct!

Oh man, how i envy you already!

btw, on a side note... I just realized this was in the CPU>AMD section... shouldn't it belong in Video Cards>Nvidia?

But.. but ... but.. he's from Canada

o jesus! the horror T.T! I didn't read that part!

We really should start some sort of outreach program where us people from america buy from newegg then ship it over to canada.... its what? another 20 bucks or so shipping? Think of the $100s or so he'd be saving buying from newegg! That would be more than worth it! In fact, I think I'm going to put this down in the suggestions section despite the fact no one ever takes those ideas and puts them to use....
