Virtually all DDR3 RAM of the same frequency and latencies performs identical so buy what makes you happy.

The the legend about Domminators as "the best RAM in the world for a long time" has been mythbusted. Good.

I'm not sure who if anyone reached the conclusion that Dominator RAM was "the best in the world". It's good RAM but so are many other brands/models of RAM. Depending on one's definition of "best" may make one brand/model better for value, HSF clearance, OC'ing, bling, etc.

My only experience with Dominators was very positive. I have a CL9 1600 1.65v kit. Keeping the timings as they were I got it to 1800MHz at only 1.5v, was as stable as pie (are pies stable? confusedsmiley.png), this is with an ASUS Z68 board and a 2600K.

Can't say if Corsair are very conservative with their binning or if I just got good sticks though. They are priced quite high though, far more expensive than 1.5v memory with the same timings and frequency, so I guess it evened out for me.

You probably just won the lottery with your ram, that sounds pretty nice. Any idea what you can get out of them @1.65V?

No idea. I no longer have the Intel parts but I still do have the sticks, might try them in my CHV later on and see how far they go

I highly recommend gskill over corsair,
this is my personal experience.
I have used both corsair & gskill.
Go with gskill ripjawsX 1600mhz cl8/cl7 kits, they are cheap, great performence, plenty of oc headroom also.

I bought Dominators purely because i was shelling out for an extreme build, and i wanted to OC, so thats what i've done.
If i wanted to save some cash and just have a decent gaming rig i would've got XMS also.

The 1600mhz cl7 kit is the best kit I've had biggrin.gif
