Kept on reading the article and what a crappy type of graph to try and show a comparison. lol 1-31 for only 5 tests.

Well I had originally planned on jumping on a pair of 7970s as they are beasts overclocked with a ton of headroom (20% on stock volts) but with nVidia's offerings I'm sure the bottom will fall out from under the current MSRP of the 7970 and kill their resale value. I suppose the best thing would be to wait until my planned IB upgrade and see what the rumors/details are like then.

My real question is how they will noth perform overclocked.

Just wait when Nvidia releases their card and then we can make safe comparisons between AMD - Nvidia. It will be bad if you buy R7000 series now and they get owned after few months by Nvidia's.
Just patience few months and we will see which is better.

And also 1500 cores being slower than a 590 is defonately wroung unless NV has made each indeviual core weaker which to me doesn't seam to smart.

They actually did this when going GT200-->GF100, though much higher clock speeds compensated it.

They did for Fermi, if you get a 192 core Fermi at the same speed as GT200 it generally is a bit slower.

This immensly powerful GK100 with 1500 Cuda Cores is most likely completely misinterpreted and is infact a Dual GPU solution aka successor to the GTX590. Which would make sense since it's arrival is much later than the GTX580 successor.

Happy Christmas OCN!!!! party.gif
