Failing to install new ATI Card

Thread Starter
Heya,
Well im trying to install a brand new Asus HD 6770 into my old rig ( the new one that im building turned out that the Motherboard was DOA) For some reason I can t get any pictures at all through the card :/
I have the pci-e power 6 pin plugged into the card, its in the primary slot etc. i get no image on boot at all not even post, and so i can't get into the bios. however if i put my old card in it works again instantly. so its not that my bios is trying to use onboard. Any ideas?

Mother board is an ASROCK ConRoe1333-D667

Any ideas will be amazing and quick ^^

Thanks,
~Dan

Tried that, Doesnt work tongue.gif The monitor just goes back to sleep after a few seconds :/
Anything else? :O I'm completely stumped... I've reset the Cmos too. The fan on the Card spins up, its just no Picture :/

EDIT
Okay update, MY computer is deffinately entering bios etc i just cant see it. I reset the bios again, and I know the routine "Press f1 to continue with default " so i just pressed it and the fan on my card span a little faster for a few secs and my dvd drive light flashed along with my keyboard leds... Deffinately posting just not through my card. and yet my onboard graphics slot won't work for some reason (guess bios sets itself to Pcie Card automatically) anyway HALP! biggrin.gif heheh

BTW Merry christmas guys biggrin.gif hehe

Try plugging your monitor into the other DVI port (the DVI ports are different). Try putting the 6770 into a different motherboard to check if the 6770 works. The 6770 may already be dead.
your "old card" using vga cable or dvi?

try using vga cable from monitor and connect to dvi port (6770) with vga to dvi converter

flo

EDIT: im having quite similar issue here, trying to figure it out since yesterday,.. my monitor refuse to use digital signal using dvi cable.. im typing now with vga cable + converter

What was in the computer for a card??
You may have to run a driver sweeper in order to get the new card to work.

Also try to disable the onboard video.

well as flo saw I'm using a VGA cable from the monitor(its old >.<) The old card was an Nvidia, but i ran driversweeper after uninstalling the nvidia graphics. However that shouldnt stop my card from functioning during POST tongue.gif
I don't have a VGA to DVI Adapter right now (damn me xD)
gahhh this was a christmas present ^^
Onboard video Seems to be off too because I can't get video from my onboard VGA slot either.
