Yo !
So the difference between uber-mode and stock is 50Hz

Stock : 830Hz
Uber-Mode : 880Hz

ive seen some benchmarks in game's here
http://nl.hardware.info/reviews/2028/14/amd-radeon-hd-6990-review-far-cry-2-directx-10

( i can flip the switch and still have warranty on it. xfx <3 ) but i see it isnt worth it? the difference isnt even 1 fps in some games.

i see its not worth the heat/performence?
also, in janaury or near future i would watercool the system !
Now, is the 6990 a good GPU to overlclock?
ive seen a Sapphire 6990 on Ebay with an Koolance WC block overclocked to 1000Mhz price was about 1000$ 'unique'

thanks in advance

They oc well on good cooling, if you go on stock, it might get VERY hot.

XFX might say they got nice warranty, but when you actually have to RMA theyre hell. Just search for some posts on this forum.

Flipping the switch unlocks the mode. What you actually do with it is the uber part, like cram buttloads more clocks and voltage. You should be on water...

doh.gifdoh.gifdoh.gifdoh.gif

Yet my Noctua DH-14 dickslaps most prefabricated watercooling solutions.

And where do we get off saying the air cooling isn't enough for 6990? Mine never goes above 60C on full load with the fan jacked up to 80%

Oh and BTW check my sig, unlike others in here spewing nonsense I'm actually speaking from real world experience here, not from some review or people talking out their asses.

(BTW my system is all on AIR)

And Toxic, last time I checked weren't you already having problems with your 6990 being bottlenecked? For one the AUSUM Bios Switch DOES help, it keeps it stable by raising the voltage. Also 1 FPS gain? I have easily seen a 10FPS gain in BF3 and benches...

These forums...... seriously..... lol.
