Bose 201 stereo bookshelf speakers

If anyone is looking for bookshelf type speakers, whether then want 2 in stereo or are looking for a whole surround setup, I just got the Bose 201 pair of bookshelf speakers at Best Buy for about $200 and I just wanted to share with you guys, they're really powerful and loud for $200 speakers considering they're paired with a kinda low end Sony 6.1 receiver (parents wanted speakers for music in the living room but didn't want to spend more than $300, I pushed them up to $450 but still that won't buy you much in terms of high end audio equipment) they have amazing mid to high range freqency response and as far as I can tell the response is very flat, crisp and very clear (no distortion) the only drawback is that they don't have the powerful bass that you would get from a subwoofer (obviously) I didn't get a sub today because the cheapest at Best Buy was a $200 Sony and the Klipsch ones I had been eyeing were over $400 so that wasn't happening, but I did get a 6.1 receiver so the upgrade path is open, according to my mom we have 2 of those Bose cube speakers in the garage so I might add those to the system also but we'll see, but to recap anyone looking for stereo speakers should check out the Bose 201s, they are a great value and sound really nice.

Yep BOSE are the best. I have a Lifestlye 28 system and those speakers are awesome. Good buy IMO.

I would highly advise against Bose. They are an overpriced audio company and most in the audio world have shunned them including myself. A better system to look at would be say a Kef Egg system, these little eggs produce much better sound and a better cost also. Plus the sub included with the Kef's is unmatched in its price point.

The only time I would MAYBE consider a bose system is in my car and thats pushing it.
