First new build in over 7 years (First Intel build ever)

Well, with my daughter's laptop really needing to be replaced (she's almost 9 and it's older than her) I figured, she can do with a hand me down, and I'm due for a new build. Here is what I have got on order or have received. Only things left to get are Mobo (P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3) and CPU (i5 2500k).

I decided that I really wanted to go a little over the top but staying within a sub $2000 budget, I came in at just about $1500.

This is my new Overclocked Gaming Rig, a change from an AMD XP 3800+ with 4GB Ram, 9400GT 1GB with a hitachi 1TB Sata2 OS/storage drive and a WD 1.5TB for storage and a 250GB game drive. (This PC will dual role as my daughters PC and my media center for now)

Coolermaster HAF X
Corsair AX850
8GB G Skill 2x4GB 1600 8-8-8-24
WD Caviar Black 1TB Sata3
Intel 320 40GB SSD
3x Coolermaster Megaflow 200MM Blue LED case fan
3x Aerocool Shark 120mm Blue LED case fan
2x Gigabyte GTX 550 Ti OC 2GB
Scythe Kaze Q12 Fan Controller
Corsair H100
Logitech G700
Logitech G110 Gaming KB
Samsung SH-S243D DVD burner

Plugged into an ASUS 28" and a Panasonic 55", with a possibility of hooking up a 22" Dell

Now just waiting for everything to come in so I can put it together. Where do we post pics of our builds, the rules for this Forum said this is not for posting the pics of the build.

Thanks!

Ok well everything has been ordered and now just waiting for it all to arrive. Has anyone had issues with the 2nd 200mm in the top of the HAF X, it seems to be getting in the way of the cables from the top cover.

Well everything but the 120MM Shark Blue LEDs and the WD HDD arrived so I got it all put together up to there. It all went together pretty smoothly. I've built many systems in the past but have never built a modded pc with lights and Closed Loop Liquid Cooling for overclocking. Ironically I was playing SC2 on my current system with friends and was getting the "Your computer is slowing the game down"...as was everyone else frown.gif I am hoping that will be the last time (I was on all minimal graphics too). So I was saying things went pretty smoothly, that was until I powered up..... frown.gif Nothing. Ok....so there's a Molex with 2 pins from the cooler....oops...ahhh we have power lights fans great.....no image..... le arg! Decide to sleep on it and return to it in the morning. Have 2 thoughts when I wake up.... 1. The 2 corsair stock fans (on the pull side right now, waiting on the Aerocools as the 2 push fans) are plugged into the fan controller, not the H100 controller, maybe it won't post because of that...or... 2. I have a total of 9 video outputs, which one is outputting to the bios? So I plugged the fans to the H100, nothing.....now I changed the video output and plugged the onboard vga and the 1st gtx dvi output with the monitor on autodetect, winner was 1st gtx dvi, I had only tried the HDMI outputs last night..so got into the BIOS..wow, nice....so here are some photos of the build and next week sometime the HDD will be in and the OS installed. I'd love to hear comments critiques and tips!

Ok, so I decided that $175 tax and shipped for a Corsair Force Series 3 115GB was worth it. So the plans look to be install WHS 2011 on the current machine and install Win 7 to the Intel 40GB and games to the Corsair 115GB in the new gaming machine. ::
