Which temp reading to trust?

Thread Starter
Asus pcprobe2 and speedfan both give around the same temperatures but intel TAT gives around 10-15 degrees more. So which one is accurate? Also on speedfan it says for "temp3" my temp is 126C, what is this?

Both are "accurate", the Probe and Speedfan read for a different sensor, that TAT reads from a sensor on the core. The TAT one is what I would go by......

As for Temp 3 in Speedfan.....I have no idea....mine usually says 126c or so as well, but on occasion I have seen it read -30c or so.......nothing in my house is -30c LOL. As far as I know it's a sensor that most boards don't have and so it is just making stuff up.

TAT reads a sensor which I believe is actualy in the core, which is why its is usualy 10-15C higher than anything else. It is also why C2D's seem hotter than anything else, but no other chip has a sensor in the core.
