Anyone know why since installing the SSD in my desktop, after automatically going to sleep it turns itself back on shortly after, only to sleep again and turn itself back on?

Wake on LAN most likely.

  • Open Network and Sharing Center (click the Start button, type Network and Sharing in the Start Search box, and press Enter).
  • Click the Change adapter settings link in the upper left of the navigation pane.
  • Right click the network connection you want to enable/disable power management support on and click Properties.
  • Click Configure.
  • On the Power Management tab, un-check Allow this device to wake the computer.

I ran into the same thing on a Toshiba laptop with a Sammy 830 SSD. Turns out it was the Magician software. If I right clicked and exited it on the system tray the laptop was able to sleep soundly again.

Cheers!

Yeah. I had to disable from starting when I boot up. It kept changing my settings in power options. I couldnt figure why my computer kept going to sleep.

hi everyone. Just a quick one. I'm getting my 64gb series 830 in a few days and wonder which firmware do you recommend that is tried and tested cos I want to setup that before system installation so I don't need to worry about it later on.
thanks.

What Nocturin said. Also, when you get it, it should already have the latest firmware installed. It was for me anyways.

Hi,

I just added one of these 256GB to a new system build using a GA-Z77X-UD5H MB

I installed the intel RST however in device manager it shows the drive as SCSI Disk Device.

It also does not show in the RST view.

Should I be using a different sata driver? in crystaldiskmark im only getting reads of @ 350

Sounds like you plugged the drive into the wrong port, plug it into the Intel SATA 6Gb/s port.
