You should use the Intel data migration software for that. That's what I used when I made the switch from a HDD to a SSD for a boot drive.

You should use the Intel data migration software for that. That's what I used when I made the switch from a HDD to a SSD for a boot drive.

I've had excellent luck using Macrium Reflect to clone one drive to another; there seems to be no partition limit. Migration programs I've used, such as Samsung's own migration program and Paragon, a highly touted migration program (that isn't free, btw) are unable to handle more than two or three partitions (the SSDs on my notebooks have four partitions: System Reserved, C:, a data partition, and the factory restore partition).

I used Acronis True Image HD 2014 (key came with MX100 lol) and successfully cloned my systemdrive to 850 Pro. There were 3 partitions.

Hey all, running into a problem with a second SSD (240GB EVO) that I'm using as a gaming drive. The boot drive is a 120GB EVO and I also have 2 WD velociraptor in RAID 0. Also samsung magician is installed and every option on the SSD was accessible with no issues.

Initially I installed the 120GB EVO in ahci mode, but then intel rapid storage tech drivers were telling me there was a problem because RAID wasn't set in the BIOS, so I set it in the BIOS and everything was fine, no errors from magician, still could update the firmware, etc.

Now that I have installed the second SSD (250GB EVO) I am getting the error in the following screenshot and secure erase, firmware update, and data security are locked out, but if I remember right the second SD was installed with RAID enabled in the BIOS, and now no mater what I choose I get the same message, only when setting to RAID at least the Intel RAID message goes away but then magician says to get full performance I have to set it back to AHCI.

Whether AHCI is enabled or not doesn't seem to affect the speed of the drives from the magician benches.

Anyone know how to fix this or have any insight as to what the problem is? I can click the errors away and everything seems to perform normally but its really bugging me that the popup come up every time I boot up with magician and intel rapid storage. The rapid storage I can get to go away just by setting RAID in the bios but the magician error never goes away until I OK it.

That's (partially) your RAM speed, seems like you have rapid on, to tell the actual difference, turn off rapid, I do that all the time because IMHO RAM caching is lame.

Rapid gives nice scores but otherwise serves no real purpose.

Here is a benchmark with Dataram RAMDisk.

No idea what it gives an error and doesn't display read access time but the scores biggrin.gif
