I purchased the 850 EVO 250GB about a month or two ago, and all I can say is that I'm disappointed. I don't want to trash the SSD, but it is so much slower than my 3 year old Crucial M4 512GB SSD. I purchased it mainly to speed up my Alienware M14X R2, but it's almost the same speed as the default HDD... Mainly boot up and faster loading times. I may stick with Crucial for my next upgrade.

Stick to SanDisk Extreme PRO if you want long term high performance and consistency:

I was very disappointed, especially for the price I paid. Newegg had a $15 off coupon, so I paid $128.99 after taxes. I though I was getting such a good deal.... But then after a week, they dropped to to $94.99. They must not be that good, as the prices keep falling like crazy.

Don't be, I paid $900 USD for two 1TB 840 EVOs that I am stuggling to sell right now. I am using one and the other one is still stealed in the box wasn't able to sell it for 5 months now.......worst investment ever! I thought I would buy it from the US and make some money here in Dubai as they don't sell mSATA SSDs in Dubai.

I thought that the benchmarks for the 850 EVO were favorable. If the 850 EVO is having performance issues straight out of the gate that's not at all good.

Edited to remove a part of my post that could be misconstrued as trolling which isn't at all what I mean to do.

There is not single legitimate report confirming the 850 EVO have any performance issues.

EDIT: Magician 4.6 is out http://ssd.samsungsemi.com/ecomobile/ssd/update1.do?fname=/Samsung_Magician_Setup_v46.zip

It's a staged rollout. Wait until 28th to download. I guess they want to see if there are any problems in the first week.
