Thread Starter
The last 2 weeks have really flown by... have had family from out of town visiting so I should be able to get the list updated later this week, though Sean, you're free to update the list in my stead if I've not been in here for a week or so (if you want to update it now you can, just make sure to retain the format and not change it to RTE if that's your preset). Sorry for all the delays either way. redface.gif

Can't wait for mine to get here. Paid $105 for my vertex 2 on sale on amazon originally, now i'm upgrading to more than double the storage for $90 and an ssd that should be magnitudes faster than my current one.

This is all my current ssd does.
501

Still works great just isn't anywhere near as fast as current gen ssd's. Not sure what i'll do with it yet.

Hi guys i just entered the club this afternoon but i'm curious about some benchs as you see below this is my results with intel drivers (lastest RST)
and as you can see my 4k-64thrd write are low compared with benchs from other members. Then i tried to use the default windows drivers coz some benhcs use this driver but no significant change in relationship with the bench from others.

Intel drivers
501

Windows drivers
501

Am i paranoid about the numbers or is there anything wrong with it? The rest of numbers are just fine only the 4k-64thrd a bit low the expected.

I'm almost 100% sure ReadyBoost is not enabled on your drive. ReadyBoost is a way for Windows to use flash memory for RAM (if im not mistaken). To enable this feature, get a USB memory stick and plug it in and right click the icon in Computer. Press ReadyBoost.

Can I join this club? I'm on the iPad and I can't post the image here. Not sure why. I have a picture on:

Just got mine in from TigerDirect. Must say, this is the most aesthetically pleasing SSD i've ever seen in person.

At that usage, I think it should last for 400 years if you just base it off P/E cycles. tongue.gif

MWI exhausted at 828 TiB

828 TiB = 847,872 GiB

847,872 GiB / 5 GiB/day / 365 days/year = 464.6 years

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?271063-SSD-Write-Endurance-25nm-Vs-34nm Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Forgot to ask, what capacity? The bigger the SSD, the more you can write on it before you run out of P/E cycles. A conservative rough estimate of the writes you can do is SSD capacity * 3,000. For now, I haven't heard of MLC NAND with lower than 3,000 P/E cycle rating being used with SSDs.
