I had no problems at all with the old firmware. My pc has been stable for 1,5-2 months:thumb:

I got my 64gb one from Amazon a while ago for 80 bucks. Man it is fast as hell. Love it! Wish I could afford the 256gb, I also have a p810 256gb coming in the mail, that will be my storage and this 830 will be my OS. biggrin.gif This 2tb WD black is way to loud for me.

If you have the firmware issue and fix it by disconnecting and reconnecting the drive (worked for me), let me know your system specs and configuration so I can report it to Samsung to help get a fix figured out. I was the only one to report a successful fix thus far.

Since my failed firmware update (which i haven't tried again yet) I get this message 'Magician update available' everytime I boot my pc while I have 3.1 installed already. I even clicked the message and installed it again but it keeps popping up. Any ideas? I think it might have to do with the new firmware available, but why does it say Magician update?

Thread Starter
Did you try uninstalling the Magician software then reinstalling it? Also, anyone that can properly summarize the firmware issue being noted above (with details), post it or PM me so I can add it to the OP.

I will add new members later today, I've been somewhat busy with other matters so I wasn't able to yesterday.

I did not uninstall it completely yet, will try that.

Edit: A complete uninstall + Ccleaner afterwards + fresh install didn't work. Still a pop up saying there's an update, clicking it points me to the version I already have.

About the firmware issues, Samsung has posted a new iso file to update the firmware and removed the previous files. Burn it onto a cd and boot from it and follow instructions. Worked like a charm for me and now I have the 02 firmware.

I just disable it on my startup...why would you need the program? just unnecessary memory usage... As long as you have the Intel RST then there's basically no point to magician software...other than checking for updates....
