The updating firmware can be on the fly without needing to format and such ? cause this was very stupid thing with the OCZ. just clicking Update Firmware and it does it automatically without problem ? without data loss ? or the possibilty for it

Edit : I still didn't get it, it is still at USPS hannibalsmiley.png center, still isn't ou

Edit : I'm little sad cause i won't get this performance with SATA II, and i don't want to buy new mobo cause then i need new CPU + RAM.

Just ordered an 830 128GB 10 minutes ago, this will be my first ever SSD so I hope it lives up to all of the reviews and benchmarks even though I will not get maximum performance due to my older hardware.

Don't worry I'm going to be running mine with SATA II as well so we can have a bench off thumb.gif

A failed update can wipe your stuff but it'd be the first I've heard of it happening. To answer the question, yes, assuming your drive doesn't ship with the newest firmware (which it should), you download the update package, select it in the Magician software under update options, run the updater, then when it finishes it'll need to reboot twice. After the second reboot it'll be done updating, no special commands necessary. smile.gif

The only downside to SATA 3Gbps is you won't see the extreme sequential speeds; random read/write won't be choked by the older standard, plenty of people including myself use the drive with 3Gbps connections. smile.gif
