How are my scores (1st time benching an SSD)? Anything to improve or is this in-line?

i think that about what you should get on that board as from what i can see it only supports sata II (3Gb/s).. nothing to worry about as it will still be plenty fast smile.gif

I picked up another 256GB 830 to put in my AW M11x R1 and just finished with a clean install last night.
It is only a SATA II with the following specs:
• Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 1.3 GHz OC @ 1.73
• 8GB DDR3
• NVIDIA GeForce 1GB GT 335M

Here are the AS SSD Benchmarks:

Is this a good score?
I keep seeing desktops with 600 - 800 scores and I'm getting low 1000's with my laptop which got me thinking if I am reading this
correctly or not.

i think it is because you are on SATA II that is holding your scores back

Yes, I understand that the SATA II is one of the problem.
These desktops that I am seeing has SATA III and they have scores in the 600 - 800 range, whereas mine is a SATA II and I got low 1000's.
Is a high score good or is a low score good?

high score is good..

but your read/write performance is awsome with high queue depths 4K-64thrd, but also your access time is not really good. interesting

i didnt really read through all your posts but it looks like your using a marvell sata port on your motherboard which arnt the best. do you have any intel sata ports your can try and rerun the benchmark?

Hey guys, I actually own a 128gb samsung 830 ssd, to match my samsung green ram (2133, yeah!), samsung f1 1tb hard drive, and 40 inch samsung eh6100 TV as a monitor. (It was as expensive as the entire rest of my computer, but it was worth it!)

Can I formally be included in this club?

The 4K-64THRD scores are glitched out probably due to your chipset or something. Otherwise you are fine.

Where do you see he is using a Marvell SATA port? lol You can't possibly tell from that screenshot.
