If you can wait, go ahead and wait. But, if you absolutely can't wait then there's no reason not to get the 840. Seriously, it's a great SSD for those of us who are mere mortals.

Thanks, this is sort of what I've been thinking. I'll keep an eye out for a solid Black Friday / Cyber Monday deal and if I don't see anything, I'll just pick one up the next time I see a relatively decent price.

It was at Newegg a few days ago with a promo code (it actually came out to $242.99 to be exact). I was temped to pick one up at that price (cheapest I've seen it so far) but it seems like every week there's a promo for it and it keeps getting cheaper and cheaper (and Black Friday / Cyber Monday are right around the corner).
