Sometimes the SATA controller driver will make the SSD show up as a scsi device and Magician will not detect the drive.

Yes, thank you thumb.gif

It shows like that in my systems and I still have not experienced this. What driver versions and motherboards does this issue appear in?

Don't have specifics. I've seen it happen with computers i've fixed for ppl. sometimes updating to the most recent driver available for the controller used alleviates the issue.

As I mentioned before. Happened to me as well. If I used raid for hdd, then the single OS SSD would use the SCSI driver, and Samsung Magician would not recognize it - no RAPID or anything - not that I care, I don't use them, I just wanted to run some tests. This was maybe no more than 6 mo ago with the latest RST drivers.

Hmm. I spy a difference. I am running Windows 7 and you 8.1.

From what I learned trying to fix my issue, it happens with every AMD RAID controller. Magician 4.4 does not recognize the drive at all. Magician 4.6 recognizes the drive, but "can't communicate" with it, and a lot of things don't work.

And not only RAPID, but important things, like write cache buffer.
