did you ever RAID them before? Are they in a RAID array?

Could be some weird meta data or something. Doing a diskpart clean on them should fix it. That is, you can do the clean command on them when using the default driver, then when done switch back to the intel.

I was just (15 min. ago) browsing ebay when I happened upon a Samsung 830 series 128Gb for $79.99 "buy it now".... it seemed too good to be true, but the listing said it was barely used, and the seller had 100% positive feedback. I couldn't pass up the deal, especially considering the fact that I have been wanting to do Raid 0 with my 830 ever since I got it. So I grabbed it and I will be running Raid 0 within a week or two biggrin.gif Can't wait!

You are actually using a 60GB SSD over a 128GB one as boot drive? I'm a little surprised as the 128 is faster not only because it doesn't use an SF controller but also because it will have more channels than the 60GB Vertex. Also due to it having more space there's more room for TRIM to work, thus making the drive even snappier or faster in general performance.

If I'm wrong please post benchmarks data.

the difference is so tiny i doubt if any difference in snappiness is noticeable.

I had this happen once, backup your data from hdd and with ctrl-i for raid setup and deleted the setting for the hdd in there. I had the exact same thing happen with my ssd, once I installed intel rst the ssd would disappear.

This... I needed more room for games than 60gb allowed (or 128gb with system filed/other apps). And I set it up before steam would let you chooses a directory to install. So I figured day to day use I wouldn't notice a difference in speed anyway. Won't matter now though biggrin.gif

Thanks to Sean and gotendbz1. That worked,, I had forgotten to set to raid mode and delete the raid volume (though I was not in raid mode I was in ashci, oh well) + REP I had to backup everything on the drives and format but worth it if they will perform better.

But at 30% usage, I saw a 7%-ish drop in AS-SSD scores. :/

That's natural, that also happens with mechanical storage.
