well firstly you need to fill in your user cp so we know what kinda hardware youv'e got, then we can help ya.

but you must understand there isnt an expected overclock with any cpu

You can overclock it as far as you can get without instability?!? That's not really a good question to ask since nobody but you knows.

Holy ram dude... have you thought about AM2? Conroe even?
Anyhow the only way knowing the mobo helped was that if it was a really crappy mobo it would hold you back. Doesn't seem crappy so we're back to guessing. All depends on the stepping you happen to get.

well i was but i donno bout DDR2 (high latencies)

but i like the Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40GHz 4MB Cache 1066MHz FSB Socket 775
and im new to overclocking so i might be ignorant to something so
if sombody can convice me an advantage of DDR2 over DDR
please do

cause im now thinking 4 of these:

4-4-4-12 DDR2-800 = 2-2-2-8 DDR-400
Apparently the good DDR2 comes at a premium on TD (other sites?). Anyhow cpu speed is way more important than memory speed, so if you're down with Conroe (e6600) get it.

Huh... I guess that makes me an ignoramus. But then again I think I did the right thing asking questions instead of doing it that way but im still waiting till january till the xmass premiums are gone and you get new years savings (im confident it will happen). so i have lots of time to finalize my desision.

This is my first time build.

I can't believe I didn't notice that jeabus.
