Ram disk....sure. Typically ramdisks are used for workstation uses. If you want to go out of your way to create a ramdisk just for games, more power to you.
16GB of ram will be underutilized by every game on the market. Hence, saying 16GB is necessary for games is incorrect. It is like getting a semi-truck to pick up groceries.

I would argue people do not need 16GB for games. It is okay to justify 16GB of ram for some other purpose.
I understand people buy it because it is cheap enough for people to waste extra money on it. However, gaming uses will not gain the most utility from 16GB ram.Edited by Riou - 12/31/11 at 7:04pm
