I put 16gig in my 2013 because it was on sale and I got it for almost the same price I was going to get the 8gig kit for. On sale it only cost me $10 more so why not go for it when I was building a complete new rig anyway.

Hell I remember the first 4mg stick I got cost more than $300 infact I think it cost the same for my CD rom drive at the time. So for me I did not need 16gig but for the price there was no reason not to get it.

Dude you could of just ignored it! there is no need for you to get confrontational over a silly photo!

I personally found it funny due to being a Zombieland fan.

You need to get off your high horse. This is the internet after all.

and I like to know what your definition of flaming is?

I went from 8 to 16 because of how I game. When I play MMO's I box multiple accounts - up to 5 at once. That means 5 processing threads, 5 instances of an application eating memory. More than 8GB isn't going to do much for a title like BF3 but it shines in instances like mine, when it's not unusual for me to be using 14+ GB of physical memory.

I also do a lot of modeling and rendering work in Maya. GPU power has the major role here, but when I'm done modeling and animating a scene and it's time to render, it will devour RAM.

Just like you didn't need to comment that it was an old post. It's still relevant.

I'm done with this silly spat/convo. Oh, and I'm 6'8". I don't need a high horse. wink.gif

My next rig is going to have 32gb. Do I need it? No. It is the same concept as people buying 3x GTX Titans and overclocking everything as much as possible. It isn't needed but it is fun. If ram was expensive then I wouldn't even consider it. Not to mention I hate having empty ram slots lol. I like overkill, would rather have more than I need than not enough.

It's got to do with "DUDE MY DICK IS BIGGER THAN YOURS" sort of bragging gamers do all the time, like intel did when they brought out the skulltrail then AMD brought out the 4P platform
And leaky games ... some games are incredibly leaky
As well as ask why do some people have like 4GB of VRAM in their GT620 (Fermi, lol!)? The OEMs did it then they bought the AIO system, to show off.
I can beat that with my poor old 512MB GDDR3 HD4830 relic that i bought for 15$ tongue.gif

That quarrel above was so silly it's not even funny. tongue.gif

Guys, things have changed and more than enough people have given their opinion on this matter (not to mention nearly a year ago) so I say just let this zombie thread die.
