Pretty sure it stands for Turbo, as the 960t also has it and it isn't a thuban.

Hmm... thinking.gif

lol I was thinking the same thing, expect with a i3-540 /w 6570.

It actually came out about $60 less than the AMD build with the cheapest FM1 board.

Llano build was $231 shipped or something and the i3-540 build was like $172 shipped with a $40 software gift card thing for AMD.

And To the guy asking about the gpu, Im pretty sure you will still be able to only pair the same series of discrete gpu's. All they have done is unlock the multipliers so that you may overclock the cpu separate from the igpu and ram.

Edit: Also I wanted to say that maybe the price justifies for the performance. What if it blows say a fx6100 outta the water. That would be a good selling point for it because of the integrated graphics. Just a thought

Wait, is it fully unlocked? The article still says "AMD's new K-series SKUs give you another 5 multipliers above the default multiplier on the CPU side, and let you ramp up the GPU clock independently as well."

I guess I can just wait and see what people do with it. If its fully unlocked, I might grab one to play around with.

Not sure where you did your pricing... I just did newegg, and the A8 with a MB was only 199. Tried the i3 build and it showed up as 224 with the cheapest MB and cheapest 6570. Hmmm... But I didnt shop around, nor did u apparently getting $231 for the Llano build tongue.gif

I included shipping and the price hike for the unlocked version thumb.gif

The Intel system had two codes for like $15 and $7 off, no shipping, and $45 in mail in rebates biggrin.gif

Well I stand corrected on the "T" thanks for clearing that up. If the Llano can regularly clock to 3.5 to 3.6 ghz with stock multipliers then I think x5 more would be a good step up from that.

Edit on Llano's release on Toms hardware they achieved an easy overclock of 143 bclk X 23.5 to get 3.372ghz for the cpu side. Well if you just add X5 more to those multi's then you get 4.075 ghz and Im sure that the bclck can go a little higher than that and I am not sure what the stock multiplier is for it even. So it is likely to get 4.1+ghz out of this newly unlcoked Llano apu. Looking forward to seeing the reviews on that one.... Im sue there is a reason it is selling for $160 and that is not even guaranteed to be the price.

When the OP issued a challenge to build something to play BF3 on the same settings with the same fps for less?

That what the man from Intel told me over the phone anyways.
