Multiplier

So is overclocking your cpu as easy as just changing your multiplier? Currently mines @ stock which would be 200mhz x9, but in my cpu-z it shows up @ 201mhz x9 = 1809mhz. ha, dunno why its like that, the memory frequency is set to 200mhz. But where do I find and change my multiplier? I can't seem to find it.

You wont be able to go up with your multi with that cpu, just down.

Here is a guide to help you overclock.

Oh ok thanks.

I just set up and tested my Max HTT speed(I'm assuming when the guide says to "Increase your HTT/FSB" that could also mean "CPU Frequency?" Because I lowered my multi to 7 and set the memory to 100mhz 1:2. I also increased my chipset to 1.7V. After I did this I increased the CPU Frequency to 205, and it wouldnt reboot. So when I manual restarted a warning came up that 205mhz frequency needed to be changed I simply went into BIOS and dropped it down to 204mhz, and now it booted. Is this alright? I've only increased it by 4mhz, which seems really modest. Am I on the right track?

It looks like you are crossing your chipset specs. it should be 1000 max when your HTT is set to x5. 204 x 5 = 1020, which would be stressing your motherboard and no further overclock possible. Set your HTT to x4 (800) and you are good to go up to 250 FSB. If you want to go higher then 250 FSB go with HTT x 3 (600). With a higher FSB you also need to increase the cpu vcore most likely.

Hmm I dropped the HTT to x4 and now its @ 250mhz on a x9 multiplier. So right now I'm @ 2250mhz @ 1.6V. I didnt up the voltage on the chipset and memory, do I want to go back and up the chipset to 1.7V and the RAM to 2.9V?

I just realized that I was on a 1:2 so my memory was only @ 125mhz. When I put it back to 200mhz My cpu was < 1800mhz @ 500mhz memory speed, so I just set everything back to default.

Ok, I'm running HTT 250x4 on a x9 multiplier with a 5:6 divider. My memory currently sits @ 204.5/204.6mhz and cpu vcore set to 1.5V @ the cpu-z says its 1.424 with very little fluctuation. Good or try again?

Are you satisfied yet or not? You obviously don't have the chip on it's max yet. I'd say tweak some more and set that HTT x3 if you go beyond 250 FSB.

I'm good with this OC. My cpu temp is around 33C. I'm just not sure what I should set the voltages @ for the chipset, ram, and cpu. I set it all to default and seems to run fine. I'm waiting to restart my prime95 and see how that goes.

I keep getting a SUMOUT error occured when I run prime95. Any suggestions?
