Start selling them! Are they coming out in the typical 4 options? (Plexi/Acetal/Nickel/Copper)?

No no, you see, you misunderstood me. The 2-slot I/O brackets have been manufactured already smile.gif

As for the blocks, we'll go with Copper Acetal & EN Nickel Acetal only for starters.

This!

When you say "starters", do you mean nickel plexi will come out later?

TO those looking to go with DCII's, I just got word from Niko that EK DCII 7970 waterblocks do not line up with reference 7970 waterblocks. They do not line up, so watch out.

Sorry if this is a dumb question or has already been asked... I couldn't find an answer on here.

Will the backplate "EK-FC7970" fit any of the cards on this list: http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/waterblock/3831109856154 with the air cooler left on the card? (no water block)

I'm interested in the Sapphire Dual X 7970, leaving the cooler that comes with it, and attaching the EK-FC7970 backplate. If anybody has done this and knows whether or not I will need different screws, that would be an epic help - I'm thinking the screws on the card won't be long enough to go through the backplate?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

A snippet from product description:
"EK-FC7970 Backplate is a retention backplate made of black painted aluminum for EK-FC7970 series water block. "

so my guess is no?

so my guess is no?

Well I saw that but I'm not sure why the holes wouldn't line up on a standard 7970 PCB - I mean it has to have the same hole pattern.. right?

You'll have to mod the ek backplate. All of the screws from the cooler screw in from the back plate side, but the end of the backplate screws in from the cooler side.

Hole pattern is obviously the same and on a positive side, the ek backplate doesn't use all the screws so you only have a few to worry about. And what I mean is the screws that come with the stock cooler are not same thread, and you have to worry about how long they need to be. I'm pretty sure the ek backplate pdf lists the screw length, so you can compare that with the stock screw length. There's also the possible mater of the screw head dimension. Stock screws are really small/narrow.
