), it seems like Gigabyte has changed their VRM supplier just before the launch to have digital PWM instead of analog into their boards and therefore quality controls have been made very speedy.

I blame the stupid design of x79 boards in general. Mobo designers are having to put mosfets on the back of the boards which have no cooling from case fans due to all the ram slots blocking extra room on the left. Add to that the mosfets on the front dont have as much cooling surface area because the there arent multiple heatsinks with heatpipes on 2 sets of vrm's which increase cooling surface area like on x58 boards etc.
