960T
Better than Denabs because the IMC is stronger
proof
480

480
max temps on the 3dmark run was 40c with NZXT Havix air cooler at 22c ambient

thuban core temp sensors are off 10c to 12c just add 12c and your safe smile.gif
looks like his ambients are a chilly 16c....nice for overclocking drool.gif or running chilled water??

By the way redwoodz nice latency score on maxxPi your #1 by a pretty good margin thumb.gif

almost forgot...my vote is for the 960t unless you can warrant the extra cores then the 1100/1090 but because of the superior imc, thuban all the way

Hmm. A guy on another thread has a problem on coretemp where it shows tjmax of 95C is that normal cuz of the bad temps probes?

they all read about 10c to 12c low on core temp, I looked at the thread you where talking about...looks like a problem with CoreTemp but also he has the ucc core unlock option enabled for some reason causing it to report no core temps smile.gif

The CPUz screen was run at 16c ambient, and coretemp is inaccurate at low temps(2am in the morning with the windows open tongue.gif).The 3DMark run was at around 21-22 ambient, had coretemp running minimized just didn't inc. it in the screenshot.

As for the MaxxPi score Mr.Innocent, that was my Athlon,no L3 equal better latency.I've just picked up the 960T so I'm still learning what it likes.

OP unless you can really use 6 cores,an overclocked 4 core is much easier to keep stable than a 6 core, the TDP starts to really climb once you get above 4.2 with 6 cores.

If I remember correctly AMD has stated the coretemp works that way, doesn't start reading correctly untill a certain temp.

So... Not Thuban, Not Deneb, but Zosma now. biggrin.gif

Is this getting confusing yet OP?

The 960T is a very good value buy, because it has the possibility of overclocking like the Deneb X4, but has the Thuban X6 IMC, and it's very cheap. It could also be unlocked back to an X6, but that would limit your overclock and would reduce efficiency at gaming. So if you had a need time to time for an X6, you could unlock it (if the one you get is unlockable, which is luck of the draw) at lower frequencies until you are done, and then lock it back.

I think I recommended it to someone else the other day now that I think about it... It being on a sale right now is helping too, ~$110 at newegg... The only thing that worries me about those chips is that they technically are damaged X6s. But you can see Redwoodz has one running as a quad at 4.4GHz. Best of both worlds.
