Does this sound right? Mushkin 2000

-ASRock Z68 Fatal1ty

Here is the RAM I installed on this board. It's 2000 speed but the only option I have in BIOS is to set it at 1866 or 2133. If I set it at 1833 or lower the auto settings keep thedefault 9-11-9-27 timing. If I bump it up to 2133 everything works perfect except the auto settings put the timing at 9-15-9-39. If I manually set them back to 9-11-9-27 I can't even come close to booting. Is 9-15-9-39 normal for OC'ing RAM from 2000 to 2133?

The memory that you have isn't Sandy Bridge compatible memory (i.e. SB doesn't have a multiplier that will do 2000mhz) thus all manufactures down rated their memory modules to 1866mhz. I'd rather have the tighter timings than the higher speed, but thats just me, I don't really think you're going to see a difference either way.

The compatibility list was rather limited as far as 2x4GB's so I decided to go with these knowing Muskins are really good at OC'ing. Read several places these boards have no problem getting to 2133. Just didn't think it would change the timing that much on me. Might be better off setting them at 1866 and keep the default timings. Might even be able to change the timing for the better if I drop it to 1866. Who knows. Thanks for the reply!

i have the same ram, i suggest running it at 1600, and tightening the timings. You will see the best results from that.

I was thinking along the same lines as you. But I decided to do some testing to find out for sure. All tests were done @ 1.65 volts except for the last one was at 1.69 (still had troubles booting with the last test but it did eventually).
